On 19 September the Thai Criminal Court will announce the date of the verdict of Somyot Prueksakasemsuk, well known editor and long time labour rights activist in Thailand. He could face up to 30 years in prison.

Somyot to attend second day of trial

On Monday 19th December Somyot starts his second day on trial on charges of Lese Majeste (offending the King). If found guilty at the end of his trial in May 2012 he faces a possible thirty year imprisonment.
Free Somyot Action Card
The new LBL action card has 2 detachable action postcards. One to send to the Thai embassy in London calling on the government to repeal the Lese Majeste laws that infringe cotizens rights and for the release of Somyot Pruksakasemsuk, a prominent Thais human and labour rights campaigner who the Clean Clothes Campaign has worked with over the years. The other card is addressed to Somyot himself, giving him greetings of hope for the new year and space for your own message of support and solidarity.
