Let’s Clean Up Fashion, takes a close look at what actions top UK high street brands and retailers are taking to address the problem of poverty wages in the garment industry. The report profiles 29 companies on the extent to which their actions are having a positive real effect on workers wages in garment factories.

The 2011 report, the fifth edition of the series, finds that although companies are carrying out some innovative work to improve wages above minimum level, very few companies are willing publish a figure to show what they define as a 'living wage' – a vitally important step if companies are to be transparent about their aims. The report also points out the need for much more work to be done to combat the underlying problems around wages. Most importantly, to ensure workers are free to join trade unions and fight to maintain and improve their own pay.
